Meeting Report: March 2019 Presidents' Forum

The Presidents’ Forum is an initiative with the goal of creating intimate spaces where foundation presidents and CEOs can grapple with racial equity leadership dilemmas and, through peer-to-peer conversations, seek solutions. Over two days in March 2019, a second convening of the Presidents’ Forum was held in Washington, DC.

Participants reflected on their institutions’ commitment to racial equity, how their own personal stories have led them to their current positions on racial equity, and shared with each other how they will continue on their journeys to not only evolve their personal commitment to racial equity but also how they will influence change within their organizations. Activities consisted of a combination of large- and small-group discussions, a conversation with former White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett, a performance by artist Sarah Jones, and personal reflective writing.
